The Cypress of Raleigh is a gated senior living community that includes 319 private residences, two lakes, walking paths, and cascading waterfalls. The charm and beauty of The Cypress of Raleigh draws interesting people from around the country and unites them in a flourishing community of health and independence.
The Cypress of Raleigh, based on an award-winning model on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina, has established itself as a leading Life Plan Community. In 2008, The Cypress of Raleigh opened with three mid-rise Villa buildings, 37 Cottage homes, a Clubhouse, The Rosewood Health Center, and several hundred enthusiastic Members.
Our fourth and fifth Villa buildings opened in 2018 and 2020, adding nearly 200 new members. Those additions completed the master plan of our 44-acre campus.
In the early 1990’s, two South Carolina developers, Jim Coleman, and Marc Puntereri, joined together to build a new equity business model in senior living, The Cypress of Hilton Head. That success paved the way for a second community, The Cypress of Charlotte (NC). In the early 2000’s three local Raleigh businessmen were introduced to the concept and found the equity model to offer numerous advantages over other types of life plan communities. Mark Andrews, Craig Huggins, and Michael Sandman (pictured clockwise from left) joined together to develop The Cypress of Raleigh.
Prior to the opening of The Cypress of Raleigh and to present day, Life Care Services (LCS) was selected to manage the community’s day to day operations. LCS, one of the nation’s premier managers of senior living communities, is committed to:
With these commitments, the developers, along with Life Care Services, and the associates at The Cypress of Raleigh, strive to create a welcoming and gracious environment that honors The Cypress’ values of dedication, integrity, and compassion.
